Congratulations! Your BFF (or family member) has agreed to be the officiant at your wedding. This may be their first time, and neither of you have any idea where to start or how to get officiated. Of course you can hire a professional officiant, but having a fun, charismatic loved one lead the ceremony on your big day can really add a special touch.
As wedding planners based in Chicago and Miami, the Fierce Productions team loves to see friends and family officiate their loved ones’ weddings, so we created step by step guide on how to get ordained and plan out the ceremony:
You’re planning a wedding and you want all of your guests to be vaccinated. How do you tell them? What is the best messaging and wording? In this blog we share our tips on how to require your guests to be vaccinated with wording you can use via your wedding invitations, emails and website.
A fun and colorful wedding with the amazing views of the Chicago skyline as a backdrop. Chris and Chereesca had a great time with a little help from a 'chimpanzee' ring bearer
The word of the month is #CANCELLED. We don’t have to remind you that events and social gatherings are being cancelled due to the coronavirus, or COVID-19. As we face this global pandemic, we are all presented with difficult decisions about how to best protect ourselves and our community. Here are some things to remember during these confusing times:
You are not alone
Everything is temporary
Your special moments in life are still worthy of celebration
JP & Hannah’s Wedding at Revel Motor Row was romantic, funky and FIERCE! JP and Hannah met on the New York City Subway. Hannah gave JP her card, but he never called her! By chance they met again a year later and started to date. Talk about fate huh?!
WHAT MADE THIS WEDDING FIERCE
The Fiercest part of the wedding was when the couple reenacted how they met to the song “Call Me Maybe” in lieu of a first dance. We made sure to coordinate NYC subway sound effects like “doors closing” with DJ Toast and Jams. It got even Fiercer when their wedding party came in with GOLD LIGHT UP DANCE SHOES and performed a dance that we choreographed for them! We aren’t usually in the dance choreography business, but owner Laura is a performer and was able to put something simple and fun together for them. Can you see which photo shows them practicing the dance?
Adam & Tabitha’s Wedding at Low Res was rock n’ roll and moody, with some alternative flair! As they like to say, their love story happened at the intersection of “weird jokes and butt grabs.”
What made this Wedding Fierce
There were so many Fierce parts about this wedding it’s hard to keep track! This moody wedding was the Saturday before Halloween. The groom, Adam, surprised Tabitha with a song at their ceremony with choreography and background vocals from the groomsmen, who also played guitar.

There are a ton of fun creative checklist items involved in creating a special event experience for your guests, but it’s important to keep the less glamorous event logistics in mind too. Ignoring or overlooking details that may seem small can end up creating unexpected chaos on the big day.
After putting together a fabulous event, you don’t want to get caught off guard by avoidable mistakes or unexpected hiccups. Here are 6 commonly forgotten event planning to-dos to ensure your next event runs smoothly:
1. PARKING
Always be sure to keep in mind the parking situation when planning your big event.
When decorating and setting the table for your feast, consider using flowers, fabric, fruit and vegetables to create a colorful, festive tablescape that your guests will awe at!
Start with a color palette! What are your favorite Holiday colors? Think out of the box! Consider the color of your table, your china and your glassware! We love this color palette that we designed for our upcoming Thanksgiving dinner.
