Who doesn’t love a good party! Especially around the charming season of the holidays! Hosting a holiday party for your team is a wonderful way to celebrate the successes of the year, and to show your gratitude to your employees. Everyone has been working hard, so why not go out with a memorable experience? Now as we post this blog in August you might be thinking, “it’s too early to plan a holiday event”. Well truthfully, it’s not. You want to make sure you have everything secured so you don’t have to scramble or plan the same mundane event. Start planning early so you can get the budget squared away, and have some fun thinking of a unique concept. You can always have fun with the “typical Christmas” styled event, but sometimes you don’t want to host another “red, white, and green” party. If you want your employees excited for the upcoming celebrations, and want the party to be remembered as “the best party YET,” then get creative with your party theme.

Here are a just few holiday parties we hosted that we want to share to get some creative juices flowing:

Putting on the Ritz

This event took their guests back to the 1930’s. Everything was elevated and glamorous in the ol’ vintage way. There was golden decor, feathers, a “movie kiosk” you had to visit to receive your “movie ticket” (escort card), and white glove service cocktails guests had to ring for. Even all the workers talked in an North Atlantic accent to immerse all the attendees. It was a playful way to celebrate the season. We had a vintage photo booth and someone walking around with treats like an old cigar vendor. As an added sweet bonus, we had live tap dancers perform before the open dance floor. It was a theme that could get guests excited to dress up and play along with the staff.

Tubular 80’s

Things don’t always have to be luxurious. Your party can be super playful and either transport your younger employees to another time, or bring back your more millennial styled employees back to their childhood. We once planned an 80’s holiday party that included a costume contest, Atari games, a Mario Kart contest, and an ice-cream sundae bar. Guests were SO excited to dress up- we even had someone whip out their rollerblades (guaranteeing them the contest win). The photo booth had a green screen backdrop so guests could insert themselves into their favorite 80’s film, while also being “silly” with some playful themed props. Because guests were feeling nostalgic, the dance floor was packed all night long as folks were dancing to 80’s hits and classics—not to mention a Lightsaber duel even took place. The decor was also super simple, but we enlightened the space with glowing tables, disco balls, and tons of party lights. We wanted the entertainment to be the main focus of the celebration. It truly became an adult’s night to play!

Enchanted Forest

Transport your guests into a new world with an enchanted forest theme. When we planned this celebration we had “overgrown” greenery undertaking the luxurious venue. The golden accents of the venue were balanced with the rest of the decor, and popped off from all the greenery. Guests had to find their seating arrangements on a glowing mossy table, then they could enjoy some hidden treats like a mirror photo booth. Took keep the space “enchanted”, we kept the lighting of the space darker so fairy lights illuminates the tables and framed the stage. To make the dance floor feel like “the elevated magical moment,” glow props were passed so everyone was lighting up the dance floor- there were fairy crowns, wands, and glowing flower necklaces to release everyone’s inner “magical fairy”. It’s a unique theme that can still emulate a bit of the holiday green and magic.

Glamour and Gold

If you still want to keep some “red” in your holiday celebration then why not make it glamorous? We planned a Glamour and Gold celebration so we made sure everything was golden, sparkly, or popping with some red color! We leaned towards some golden art deco vibes with some statement pieces like the stage: grand red feathers and golden accents. Even some tables were dressed with sparkly red linens to add some extra texture. But we didn’t just stop with the decor. To make this celebration immersive and unique, guests were greeted by a woman in red on a red carpet, golden moving statues welcomed guests into the main reception area, and a secret flashmob started the dance floor. To make the dance floor feel extra special, cold sparklers and a live band kept folks grooving on the dance floor all night.

Magic Within

Can you tell we like magical things? It’s mostly because experiencing magic is such a memorable experience. Why not transform your event into a night of elegant magic and mystery. What’s real, and what’s not? For this celebration we had magical moving lanterns that secretly revealed a sparkling welcome cocktail, we had roaming magicians confusing guests with their wonder, we had roaming tables that walked right up to you if you needed a snack, and even a grand magical performance at the end of the night. It was elegant, it was whimsical, it was stunning.

Murder Mystery

If you have a more intimate team and want something super interactive and playful why not plan a themed murder mystery event! Pick an era, genre, theme, and then write a script (or have a Fierce team of artists come up with one) and then assign your team characters. Its a fun way to get everyone involved, and you can have the incentive of having everyone dress up as their character. When we hosted this styled event, we had an 80’s prom themed event. Our actors were the faculty and helped guide the players, and the guests were all High School “stereotypes”. Some got really into character, one even wearing a Pigeon head as the mascot. It was super silly, it was a fun ice-breaker, and th everyone had a great time dancing.

Winter WonderLand

This is a theme we are currently working on so we shan’t share many details, but why not elevate a classic theme? Transform your party into a modern, almost disco vibe? Make the space seem cold with sleek silvers and shiny whites. Make things icy with disco balls, tinsel, and other reflective surfaces. Maybe even keep things “snowy” with a few fluffy moments and accent pieces. Have folks feel like they need to dress sleek and shiny.
